DODI 5000.92: Innovation and Technology to Sustain Military Readiness
“a. Materiel availability is foundational to military readiness and the DoD’s ability to field a lethal force necessary to counter threats to America’s national security. b. Sustaining materiel availability requires a coordinated effort among and across multiple life-cycle functional domains including program management, engineering, manufacturing, supply, information technology, and maintenance.
