From the report: "The impacts of climate change are increasingly perceived by the White House and the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) as a national security threat. Therefore, adopting policies to reduce DoD’s contribution to climate change and the potential impacts of climate change on DoD activities is increasingly emphasized in national security policy. For example, to prepare the DoD workforce to better enable climate-informed policy, DoD is adjusting its education and training programs through such initiatives as Deputy Secretary of Defense Kathleen Hicks’ establishment of the Climate Literacy Sub-Working Group. DoD is also examining the impacts of climate change on installations."
