From the document: “The Survivor Benefit Plan (SBP), 10 u.s.c. §§ 1447-1455, established by Pub. L. No. 92-425, approved September 21, 1972, 86 stat. 706, is an income maintenance program for the surviving dependents of deceased service members. The Plan has been modified substantially from time to time since then by amending legislation, including the provisions for supplemental spouse coverage, 10 u.s.c. §§ 1456-1460a Accordingly, the user of the title is cautioned to undertake any necessary supplemental research deemed appropriate.”
