From the preface: "To ensure that the military is using effective and efficient accession medical screening processes for enlisted and officer applicants, the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Military Personnel Policy, Accession Policy asked RAND Corporation researchers to evaluate current accession medical screening systems, review past efforts to reform the two existing systems, identify potential options for future reforms, and develop a plan for a pilot program that potentially combines key features of the two systems and integrates input from key stakeholders."
