Margaux Hoar is the Systems Director for Space Futures and Operations at the Aerospace Corporation. In this role she leads the team supporting Headquarters, US Space Force with engineering, analysis, and technical advice.
Margaux was the founding director of the Organizations, Roles, and Missions research program at the Center for Naval Analyses. In that capacity she directed congressionally mandated studies to reorganize national security space inside DOD, including the design of the U.S. Space Force. She co-created CNA’s StaffLab to pressure-test organizational designs in a low-risk wargaming environment. She also has experience in the commercial tech world, having crafted strategy, designed processes, and led organizational change as a Strategy and Growth manager at Amazon Web Services.
Margaux has advised senior leaders on issues of DOD organizational change, including participation in several headquarters-based Operational Planning Teams and keynoting a Combatant Commanders’ conference. Her commentary has been published by War on the Rocks, Modern War Institute, DefenseOne, and Proceedings of the U.S. Naval Institute.
She holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in chemical engineering and a Master of Engineering in biomedical engineering, both from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She also holds a graduate certificate in International Security Policy from the George Washington University’s Elliott School and has completed executive coursework with MIT’s Sloan School of Management.
