Ryan Ordway is a member of the leadership team for Boston Consulting Group's North American Center for Digital Government. He is a coleader of BCG's support for the non-partisan Center for Presidential Transition and a contributing writer to the Center's reports, The 2023 Agency Transition Guide and The 2023 Presidential Transition Guide.
Ryan has worked with clients in industries including public sector, technology, industrial goods, aerospace and defense, and private equity. He specializes in working with clients on large-scale technology and digital modernization efforts, technology strategy, operating model and organizational transformation, procurement, acquisition excellence, cost reduction, and go-to-market strategy.
Ryan specializes in bringing private sector best practices to public institutions by tailoring BCG’s approach to fit unique government needs. Among his many client engagements in the public sector, he has supported a major enterprise resource planning (ERP) modernization initiative from initial business case analysis, through course of action selection, PMO standup, and vendor onboarding. He also supported a multi-year program to implement category management best practices across a portfolio of over $2 billion in annual IT software spend through improved spend analytics and benchmarking, contract negotiations, and requirement standardization and consolidation, which has avoided more than $200 million in annual cost.
Prior to joining BCG, Ryan was an infantry officer in the US Army with 15 months of combat experience in Iraq and Afghanistan. Ryan is passionate about helping veterans successfully transition when they decide to leave the military and has supported the COMMIT Foundation for the past several years. He is an active member of Veterans@BCG.
